Who Is Lawyer Tiffany, Black Elle Woods, on ‘Money, Power, Respect’?

Who Is Lawyer Tiffany, Black Elle Woods, on ‘Money, Power, Respect’?

WEtv is launching a new unscripted series about a group of beautiful, female African-American lawyers, Money, Power, Respect (it was at one point called Ladies of Law). The tagline for the show is: “Earn It. Take It. Bring It.” The cameras follow the women at work and at home, and it seems like more of the drama occurs at the latter. In the series premiere episode, we meet:

  • Wendy Credle, former A&R executive turned entertainment lawyer and executive coach
  • Kendell Kelly, DC intellectual property attorney
  • Dana Whitfield, trial attorney
  • Kelly Shapiro, general counsel attorney
  • Nakia Thomas, Ivy League corporate attorney
  • Tiffany Ballard, entertainment attorney who goes by the Twitter account @BlackElleWoods (a reference to Reese Witherspoon’s famous character)

On Money, Power, Respect, some of the women look down on Tiffany for being too “hood.” The Brooklyn native warns the women that they need to toughen up a little, and Tiffany’s not afraid to call them out for being fake. P.S. Tiffany is a graduate of Virginia State University (B.S. 2003) and Hofstra University School of Law (J.D. 2009). Prior to her legal career, she worked in the areas of juvenile justice and national security. Money, Power, Respectairs Thursdays at 10pm on WEtv.
