Crystana Lattimore aka Dutchess of Ink was born in Lincolnton, North Carolina. At an early age she showed her exceptional talent in art. She graduated from North Carolina A&T with a bachelor in Business Management with concentration in Visual Art. While in Graduate school she developed a passion for tattoo artistry. She soon after moved to New York to pursue her talents, where she got her start with VH1.
Following her tattoo dreams, Dutchess opened up her own tattoo shop, Pretty-N-Ink, and has had all kinds of celebrity clients come visit her to get work done. Now she’s on a local radio station hosting her own show every week. Her live show is on Charlotte’s 92.7 The Block and airs every Sunday.
Dutchess not has only appeared on TV and Radio, tattoos, also other things as a business owner… She is now creating Music!
The Rap Plug caught up with her in Austin at SXSW. Although she’s no longer considered a rookie in the game , Dutchess remains Humble to be recognized for her talent and charm, but she is still on a mission to prove that she is one of the best.
We asked Dutchess “ Has it been hard to plug into the music industry?"
She responded that “The hardest thing for people is to separate her from reality tv.” She emphasizes that she knows how hard it is as an artist to work her from the bottom and she just wants to “share her art with her audience”.
